Satellite Imagery Questions

Q: Where can I find help on the satellite viewer?
A: Check out our satellite viewer instructions page   For more information on satellites and our coverage see our satellites page.

Q: Can you add imagery from a specific satellite?
A: If you know of other satellite imagery, that is in the public domain, let us know.

Q: How far back does archive go?
A:
Due to limited storage space on our web host, GOES satellite images go back 2 months. See satellites page for more information.

Q: What is the time interval between satellite images?
A:
This depends on both the satellite and area of interest. See satellites page for more information

Often, even though more images are available, these intervals were the best balance between the huge amount of data available from from our image providers, and anticipated user needs.

Q: Where can I learn more about satellite imagery?

Radar Imagery Questions

Q: When will weather radar be available?
A: Weather radar data is coming soon, after satellite imagery, starting with U.S. and perhaps Canada.  Preliminary web searches have shown that other countries have not yet released this data for use outside their weather websites.

If you know of other radar imagery, that is in the public domain, let us know. The "International" part of this website's name should not just mean United States and Canada.
